A Pattern I Had to Break

There were weeks when I worked from morning to night.
My calendar was full.
My messages were overflowing.
And yet the important things moved slowly.

I kept asking myself the same question.
How can I work this hard and still feel stuck?

Then I realized something simple.
I was confusing action with progress.

Movement and progress are not the same.

The Tool That Gave Me Clarity

Every time I feel scattered, I go back to my OKRs or Goals.
Quarterly objectives, defined in simple language.
They act like a filter.

When I look at them, it becomes obvious:
Which tasks actually matter
and which ones are just motion.

OKRs or Goals show me where the business needs to go.
Everything else is noise dressed as urgency.

A Practice That Works Every Time

Here is the small habit I use to reset my focus.

Pause for thirty seconds and ask:

Which task today moves one of my OKRs or Goals forward?

Then do that one thing first.
Before the chats.
Before the quick wins.
Before the distractions disguised as work.

This one habit has saved me months of wasted effort.

Why This Matters for Leaders

When you lead a company, you are always in demand.
People pull your attention in every direction.
It is easy to spend your whole day reacting.

But leadership is not about reacting.
Leadership is about moving the business forward.

OKRs or Goals give you direction.
Your discipline gives you progress.
Together, they keep you from drifting into busyness.

How I saved 4 months of work with Ai and got the job done in 4 hours.

A few months ago I was working on a new product idea.
Normally this type of prototype took my team months.
Design meetings.
Clarifying calls.
Slow iterations that drained energy.

This time I did something different.
I opened my laptop and used Claude, Lovable, Replit and a few other tools.
I explained the idea.
I asked the questions experience had taught me to ask.
I guided the AI the same way I guide my team.

Sometimes it’s funny, almost absurd.
I’ll catch myself thinking,

Wait, who put me here? Is this a mistake?
It’s crazy how easily your mind forgets everything you’ve done the moment doubt appears.

It’s so easy to forget about all the hard work, all the late nights, all the things that got me here.

When I started my company, I thought those feelings would disappear once we had more clients, a real team, visible success.
They didn’t.

If anything, they got louder.
Every time we reached a new milestone, my mind found a new reason to question it.
“You just got lucky.”
“You’re not as good as they think.”
“What if they realize you’re just figuring it out too?”

What Is Imposter Syndrome?

Imposter Syndrome is that persistent feeling that you’re not as capable as you are, that you’re somehow “faking it,” and at any moment, someone will find out. Or that all things will go wrong.

It’s not a lack of competence. It’s a distortion of perception.
Even when there’s plenty of evidence you’re doing great, the mind keeps doubting.
It’s common among high achievers, founders, and leaders, people who constantly push beyond their comfort zones.

And here’s the twist: it’s not just us.
Famous people like Maya Angelou, Tom Hanks, Michelle Obama, and even Albert Einstein have openly spoken about feeling like imposters at times.
If they can feel it, people who’ve achieved incredible things, then maybe it’s just part of being human.

The Realization

For a long time, I saw that voice as proof that I wasn’t ready.
But one day it hit me, maybe confidence isn’t about getting rid of self-doubt.
Maybe it’s about showing up anyway.

That moment changed how I saw everything.
Because that doubt?
It only shows up when you’re stepping into something new.
When you’re stretching.
When you care.

Then I remind myself: Of course you will make mistakes. You are learning.

Making Peace With It

Now, when it whispers, I take it as a sign of growth.
A reminder that I’m doing something that still challenges me, and that’s a good thing.

Sometimes, that feeling of unease doesn’t go away quickly.
There are days I feel anxious, analyzing the situation, replaying conversations, questioning decisions.

It might take hours, sometimes days, but eventually I make peace with it.
Not because the doubt disappears, but because I stop letting it decide for me.

And here’s the truth: I’m still figuring it out.
I don’t know for sure how everything will turn out, and that’s okay.

Even the biggest companies like Google, Facebook, Tesla, they are figuring it out every day.
They’re experimenting, adjusting, learning as they go.
If they’re still learning, why should we expect ourselves to have it all perfectly mapped out?

We need to normalize that.
Admitting we’re figuring things out doesn’t make us less capable, it makes us more real.

Instead of hiding from that truth, I’ve learned to say:
“Yeah, I’m figuring it out. I will make mistakes. And that’s Okay…”

The truth is, everyone’s improvising at some level.
Even the people who look like they’ve got it all together are quietly asking themselves the same question:
“Can I really do this?”

Imposter Syndrome Isn’t a Sign You’re Behind

That feeling of not being enough isn’t a weakness, it’s proof you’re expanding.

1. When You Decide It’s Time

Every new year or birthday feels like the right moment to start fresh.

But sometimes, the best moment to start isn’t on a date —

it’s when you decide you’re ready.

That’s what happened to me.

This isn’t a random impulse or a sudden inspiration. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for years — something I’ve postponed over and over again.

Creating a personal brand, sharing what I know, and putting my thoughts out into the world is something I’ve always wanted to do. But I’ve spent most of my life building — companies, products, and teams — not talking about it.

Now it’s time to do both.

2. Why Now

I just came back from a month-long vacation with my wife for our 10-year anniversary — something I never thought I could do.

For years, I didn’t allow myself to take long breaks.

I believed that success meant always working harder, longer, and faster.

But after more than a decade of building, I finally realized that I can step away — and the companies will still run. That’s not because I stopped caring; it’s because I have an incredible team that continues to grow and push forward.

That realization changed everything.

It made me understand that this next chapter is not about working more. It’s about creating more impact.

3. Why I’m Starting This Space

I make money with my companies — I’m not doing this to sell anything here. Still, I know that sharing openly can naturally bring more attention to what we’re building — and I’m okay with that, because if it helps more people or businesses grow, then we all win.

I’m doing this because writing and sharing help me think clearer.

And if anything I say helps even one person — that’s impact.

Like the CEO of Spotify once said,

“A big part of the meaning of life is the impact you create.”

That line hit me deeply.

My goal, beyond growing my companies, is to help 1 million people live better lives.

If one thought, one story, or one lesson I share helps you in any way, then I’m already closer to that mission.

4. The 2aBillion Mindset

I’ve called this journey 2aBillion — not just because it’s a big goal, but because it represents dreaming big, even when it scares me.

It’s not about money. It’s about mindset — about creating something that has an impact so deep it can’t be measured in dollars.

I don’t even know if I want to reach a billion. But the idea of aiming that high pushes me to grow, to think bigger, and to live with purpose.

“To a billion” is not a destination. It’s a reminder to aim high, grow relentlessly, and enjoy the ride.

Naval Ravikant said something like:

“Desire is a contract you make with yourself to be unhappy until you get what you want.”

That’s why, even as I chase ambitious goals, I remind myself: the real win is enjoying the journey — not waiting until the end to feel proud.

Every new chapter comes with pain.

The pain of learning.
The pain of doing something new.
The pain of not knowing how it’ll turn out.
The pain of starting.

But you know what’s even more painful?
Reaching the end of your life and realizing you never started — just because it was hard.

I’d rather fail while trying than regret not starting at all.
